How I Feel When I Order Out Living Gluten Free!

Okay seriously though...if you struggle with gluten issues and walk into the wrong restaurant that does not know what 'gluten free' is, you know how I feel! This is just a little glimpse of how I feel when I order out sometimes at restaurants (just ask my boyfriend he knows). Absolutely cracked me up! If you struggle with the same issues, you will definitely understand where I am coming from!

Enjoy:)

On the plus side, here are some of my favorite restaurants and food choices I pick when dining out! I have listed exactly what I order and how I modify it to be considered gluten free. SIDE NOTE: I have a severe allergy to gluten, and can tell immediately if I consume any amount. I have done my research before hand and tested these out FIRST HAND and continue to go to one of these options at LEAST once a week.

Panera:

Thai Chicken Salad w/ no peanut sauce, no wonton strips, and instead of Thai dressing ask for balsamic vinaigrette. Side of Chips or Apple pair best with the salad.

Wok n’ Fire:

Gluten Free chicken lettuce wraps

Crazy Roll

Gluten Free Seared Pepper Ahi Tuna Salad (must specify as gluten free because they sear Ahi Tuna with soy sauce which contains gluten)

Must have Martini (Cosmopolitan is my fav)

Coopers Hawk:

Gluten Free Chicken Lettuce Wraps (must specify as gluten free because one of the sauces contains gluten)

Gluten Free Bread

Martini or Wine (Lemon Drop or Red Wine)

Village Squire:

Berry Nut Salad with side of French Fries (they fry their French fries in there own frying basket so us folks can eat their fries: THANK YOU)

Cheesecake Factory:

Appetizer: Beet and Goat Cheese Salad (my boyfriend and I are addicted)

Herb Crusted Salmon Salad

**I have yet to try any other type of food at Cheesecake Factory. I am no doubt hooked on this salad, and my mouth is currently drooling from the thought of it right now..

Depending on what time we go, I will usually choose one of these options for my drink: Mojito, tea/coffee or Martini

Burnt Toast or Brunch Café (or really any breakfast joint):

Make your own omelet:

Egg whites, jalapenos, avocado, spinach, mushrooms, and red pepper

Gluten Free Pancakes (if they do not have gluten free pancakes I will get hash browns or potatoes)

Fruit Cup

Coffee

Red Robin:

Gluten Free Chicken Sandwich (they have gluten free buns!!!) with a side salad and french fries or sweet potato fries. SIDE NOTE: Sometimes I will skip the bun and just get the fries, depending on what mode I am in:) I love French fries!

Please note: everyone’s food intolerance levels are different. One bite of gluten may affect you or someone more then another. Please do not judge one when around a fellow gluten intolerant or celiac survivor! You do not want to be around us when consuming gluten. You never know what will happen!
